YANMAR sailing and smaller craft engines deliver the high-end performance and unequaled reliability associated with over 100 years of innovation. With the largest global support network in the marine engine industry and delivering 5x Best in Class features associated with common rail technology, YANMAR engines have become the global standard in sailboat and small craft propulsion.

About Common Rail Technology

As a leading diesel engine manufacturer, YANMAR integrates the most advanced common rail technology into our innovative marine engines.

Common rail technology is a digitally controlled, high-pressure fuel injection and sensor system that optimizes engine efficiency & performance. This results in reduced emissions, minimal noise, and peak power output, significantly improving the engine’s overall efficiency and comfort onboard.

Multiple sensors throughout the engine intelligently feed operating conditions and performance requirements to the ECU. The system monitors the throttle position, various temperatures, rail and pressure, intake air pressures, and both crank and cam positions. Based on the feedback from the sensors, the ECU regulates fuel from the supply pump into a single high-pressure fuel rail and digitally activated injectors. This controls precisely when and how much fuel to inject. A common rail system can supply between one and five injections to each cylinder over the course of a cycle, rather than one single injection in a mechanically controlled fuel system.

Originally developed to meet strict automotive emissions regulations, the common rail technologies used in YANMAR’s marine engines have been custom marinized by YANMAR, specific to each YANMAR model and meeting YANMAR’s strict engineering standards. This brings you the latest technology in marine diesel engineering and our collection of 5x Best in Class engines.

YD25

Compact switch panel with a 2.5” LCD display to view all YANMAR engine data, alarms, and diagnostic troubleshooting codes. Integrates with multifunction displays and glass helm systems, or can function as a standalone instrument display aboard smaller vessels.

YD42

Smart, multi-purpose instrument featuring a compact full color display, modern glass styling, with the ability to read and display YANMAR engine alarm and diagnostic troubleshooting codes. View engine speed, engine load, oil pressure, coolant temperature, wind, speed, depth, AIS data and more at a glance.

JC-20

The YANMAR JC20 inboard joystick system is suitable for every motorboat, powerboat, and catamaran equipped with twin YANMAR 4JH-CR, 4LV, 8LV-CR, and 6LY-CR Series common rail engines.

How it works
Simply press the joystick gently in the desired direction of movement and the JC20 will automatically engage the bow thruster and adjust the speed of the two shaft engines to maneuver the bow precisely where needed.

The VC20 is YANMAR’s 2nd generation vessel control system that controls all YANMAR electronically managed engines. Featuring simplified electrical management, a high-quality appearance, and significant functional improvements, the next generation YANMAR VC20 Vessel Control System integrates with YANMAR’s complete line up of common rail engine series, transmissions, controls, and displays.

The VC20 is a J1939 based CAN bus system that has a dedicated network to each engine and comes standard with an emergency back-up panel, ensuring the highest reliability. With NMEA connections built in, the VC20 can connect easily to multiple other vessel accessories or systems.

The system was completely developed by YANMAR to meet the company’s high standards of quality and dependability. The VC20 controls all YANMAR engine and transmission function and shows engine alarms and diagnostic codes in the display.

B25 & C35 PANELS

The B25 & C35 are YANMAR’s start/stop tachometer panels which are compatible with JH-CR and 4LV electronic YANMAR engines. These panels show basic parameters using traditional gages and have capability to show additional parameters, including Diagnostic Troubleshooting Codes (DTCs) in the smart tachometer window. The smart window can be programmed to show various other engine parameters as needed. These panels can also drive an optional fuel level gage.

B Panel: Includes Tachometer only

C Panel: Includes Tachometer, water temperature gauge, oil pressure gauge

Basic parameters shown:

  • Engine hours
  • Back light
  • Battery voltage
  • Throttle Position
  • Engine Load
  • Fuel Rate
  • Intake Air Pressure
  • Fuel temperature
