55-Degree V6 Power and Mechanical Simplicity at 225 HP

The Suzuki DF225 is a 3614 cc V6 four-stroke outboard rated at 225 hp across a 5000-6000 rpm full-throttle operating range, the entry point to Suzuki's V6 line, which runs from 225 to 300 hp. Suzuki builds it around a 55-degree V6 DOHC 24-valve powerhead, Variable Valve Timing, Multi-Stage Induction, an offset drive shaft with 2-stage gear reduction and a user-adjustable Tilt Limit System.

Powerful and efficient. The DF225 is built around a 3614 cc 55-degree V6 DOHC 24-valve powerhead paired with Suzuki's Multi-Stage Induction System, which tunes intake tract length across the rpm range for strong torque from idle to wide open throttle. Variable Valve Timing adds low- and mid-range torque without giving up top end, and an offset drive shaft with 2-stage gear reduction turns a large-diameter propeller efficiently.

Easy to live with. Suzuki's CAN Bus rigging system supports an easy start system, automatic trim, keyless starting and troll mode when the boat is rigged for them, and a 32-bit ECM continuously manages fuel injection and ignition timing for consistent starting and throttle response. A user-adjustable Tilt Limit System protects the boat and the motor by capping how far the outboard tilts. Every DF225 comes with remote mechanical shift and throttle standard.

Built for saltwater. Suzuki's Anti-Corrosion System applies a specially formulated finish directly to the outboard's aluminum surface, which allows maximum bonding and helps protect the parts that are constantly exposed to saltwater, and two freshwater flushing ports make flushing the cooling system straightforward after every trip. The DF225 is offered in Pearl Nebular Black or Cool White.
